Let's Pretend

Pretend play sharpens narrative skills which is one of the building blocks of early literacy.

Drive the Fire truck
Hurry, hurry, drive the fire truck (repeat 3x)
(Hands on steering wheel)
Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding!
Hurry, hurry, turn the corner (Lean)....
Hurry, hurry, climb the ladder
(Pretend to climb ladder)...
Hurry, hurry, squirt the water
(Pretend to spray hose)....
Slowly, slowly, back to the station...

Dinosaur Song
(to the tune Farmer in the Dell)
We’re stomping our feet,
we’re stomping our feet,
We’re stomping like dinosaurs, we’re stomping our feet.
(other verses)
We’re running really fast…
We’re roaring really loud…

If You're An Owl...
If you're an owl and you know it hoot like this "Hoo(t), hoo(t)..."
If you're an owl and you know it hoot like this "Hoo(t), hoo(t)..."
If you're an owl and you know it then your hoot will surely show it
If you're an owl and you know it hoot like this "Hoo(t), hoo(t)..."

continue with other lyrics:
Flap your wings (flap wings)
Blink your eyes (blink eyes and open and close hands to help mimic the movement)
Turn your head (turn it from side to side!)
